How the Ford Blind Spot Information System Keeps You Save While You Are Driving

You have probably experienced the blare of a horn behind you when you are changing lanes or making a turn, only to discover that there was a car in your blind spot. The blind spot is that area in back and to either side of you where your side mirrors don't pick up the fact that there was a vehicle there.

The Ford Blind Spot Information System detects a vehicle in your blind spot what is within 10 feet of you and activates a flashing warning light on your side mirror. This is not intended to replace your vigilance in the matter, but it does enable you to keep looking straight ahead at all times, which is safer than having to turn around to look.

The Ford system also includes Cross Traffic Alert which detects oncoming traffic if you are backing out of a driveway or parking space. It detects moving traffic within 145 feet from your position. This helps you stay safe even if you cannot see the oncoming traffic.
